WHY TALLOW?
 What is beef tallow?

Beef tallow is simply animal (usually beef) fat (or suet) rendered down and purified even more for skincare use. What’s left is what nature gave us to be used for so many things and people have been using it for centuries! It truly is the ultimate skin healing and soothing moisturizer. Tallow shares similar biology with our own skin, so it’s very compatible with our skin’s physiology. It’s made up of about 50-55% saturated fats, which is exactly the same proportion of our own skin membranes. Fun fact: the word “tallow” is actually translated to “sebum” in Latin. How cool!?
Tallow is very rich in fat soluble Vitamins K, B12, A, D, and E! Nowhere else can you find this combination of fats together other than animal fat!
Your omega 3s and 6s are found in nearly a 1:1 ratio in beef tallow, which are helpful for anti inflammatory and immune function (eczema and rosacea) of our skin.
Other fatty acids that our found in outer layers of our own skins sebum are present in beef tallow to aid in softening, moisturizing, repairing, and adding anti inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.
Tallow is also noncomedogenic, which means it works well with our own natural sebum and won’t clog pores!
Finally, while there are so many benefits to be found in using tallow for skin care, I still don’t believe it’s a miracle product. It’s good to remember that our skin conditions are a reflection of what is happening INSIDE our body and not to ignore that.
